just thought i'd throw something up here, just for the sake of updating. NOBODY updates their blogs, thus I have nothing to read when I get to work. c'mon now... I've been off for 3 days, and nobody has updated since my last night at work.

alright, anyhoo... i haven't told everyone, so i thought i'd just throw it up here, so you all will know, well everyone that reads this that is, which is about 5 people, lol... my official DEROS date, which is when I leave Korea, is 28 Nov. 2006, but my ETS date, which is when I get out of the military, is 8 Feb, 2007. So because it's only about a month and a half from my DEROS to my ETS, they'll just keep me in Korea until I ETS. So 8th of February, 2007. Mark in on your calendars! That's 2 F'n years! I'm dying and it's only been 2 months! haha.

as usual, nothing new. I'll just end it here. no use rambling on and on about nothing. peace out!

2 days where you are is probably better than one day in Iraq my brotha. I hear USA is going to invade Iran or Syria. Guess what that means? GUARANTEED DRAFT!!!!! And no, im also told im not exempt with my asthma. I just wont be an A draft but could be a C or D draftee if they make it that far. Oh yeah, and they're pushing for women in combat. If that goes through, ladies will register for the draft as well. Oh joy!

Iran, Syria, N.Korea... you pick. Iran seems to be on the top of the list... at least that's the one that they make the most public. N. Korea is still in the picture, and with all of this crap going on with China, that could get ugly.

And they've been talking about the draft long before any mention of possible war with any other country, because as it is now, they already have the military spread out too much.

As far as women in combat, that already happens. A LOT more than it's made public. There are no female infantry soldiers, maybe that's what they're talking about. Quite a few women are tasked out to do things over in Iraq, especially women MPs. Women MPs have even been attached to Ranger units and have gone on missions, because they need the women MPs to search the Iraqi women. I doubt they'll impose a draft for women... highly doubt it.

All i know is that i havent worked my ass off my entire life to be unwillingly sent to fight a war i dont really necessarily agree with (invading of Iran).

The US cant go around forcing freedom upon people. Someone will step in. UN, countries in Europe. Who knows, maybe even the people of the US. Our country is on the verge of depression. Maybe bush is trying to get a WW3 going. To pull us out.

I wish i was a kid again now.

C'mon now Kel, don't get all Liberal on me now. LOL. I know what you mean though, I wouldn't want to be forced to do something like that either. But look at it this way, there are countries, like South Korea, for instance, that force ALL males to do a minimum of 2 years of military service. It's their duty. If they didn't do that, then they wouldn't have much of a military at all. Now look at the U.S. We have such a large military, that we don't have to impose a draft, because of all of the people that volunteer. But if it gets to the point where they absolutely have to impose a draft, then at that point, even if you disagree with it, it's your duty. And the reason it's not your duty now, is because of all of the people that do volunteer. Not to mention, even though they're forcing you to join the military, they're paying you, and the pay isn't bad.

I definitely agree with you on the fact that we can't just force freedom and democracy upon every country, which it seems like we're trying to do. Some of these people are never going to have that, because there's always going to be others that oppose that way of life, and there's always going to be chaos as long as we try to push that upon them. You can't change the way people think or view life.

I wouldn't doubt a WW3. So many countries have ties with other countries who have ties with other countries, and so on. You know how it goes, you took history. Maybe invading Iran would set it off. That would piss off Japan... Iran is Japan's 3rd largest supplier of energy. I don't think they're going to be producing too much energy if we bomb the hell out of their country. Look at N. Korea now.. admitting that they do have nuclear weapons, and won't go back to talks about disarming. Wasn't the reason we initially went into Iraq was because we BELIEVED they had weapons of mass destruction, and thought of them as a country that could do harm to the U.S. If that's the case, then we have more than enough cause to go into N. Korea, because it's not speculation that they have those kinds of weapons. They admitted it. And Bush claims N. Korea to be a potential harm to the U.S. But you know as well as I do, that a WW3 is highly unlikely. But I think that the U.S. is going to get way in over their heads.

My duty?! My duty is not to die for something i believe in. My duty is to serve society and other people the best that i can. I think that being a nurse does that quite well. Its noones "duty" to fight in a war. The reason that makes us different is freedom. Thats why all males dont have to serve two years in certain conutries.

Yes i back the army. Yes i TRY to back my country's decision. Yes i thank the troops. But no i wont dodge the draft. Ive told you before if im drated, ill go. Will i agree with it? no. Do i have to? no. Its not the fact that i dont understand why we have the draft. Its the fact i dont want to go. To be honest, as an asthmatic in a country with sand storms, etc. im a dead man walking.

And we do agree about the US getting in way over their heads. We'll see. All we're doing is speculating. Its still got to go a long way before any of this takes place.

What worries me more is you already being in the army. I know they told u ull be in Korea until you're out. But we both know what the army tells you is SHIT! Army is like Hotel California. You can check out, but you can't leave. All i can hope for is that by the time u get out, this all dies down.

no, it's not your duty RIGHT NOW. But if it got so bad, where you were drafted, then it would be your duty. Duty doesn't necessarily mean something that you want to do. but you might as well conform to it, cuz you have to do it. i agree, it would be very shitty. Nobody likes to be forced into something, but "supposedly" it would be for the greater good of our country, and all that crap they would feed you.

And in your case, if you were to get drafted, with asthma and a bad knee, they would find something for you, but i HIGHLY doubt it would be in a combat environment. And you're a pretty knowledgeable guy, so you could definitely test into something that would put you away from all of that. Especially with all of the retards the Army has... you have no idea how ignorant most of the people in the army are. it blows my mind. If I did end up going to the sand box, I'd be more afraid of being shot by one of our own, than I would be of an Iraqi. Did you know that there are more soldiers killed or wounded by things OTHER than hostile fire? Such as friendly fire. You see a lot more to the military when you're actually in it, and I haven't been in it that long at all, and I've already seen enough. It has it's positives and negatives, but I see a lot more negatives than positives.

Forgive me if I'm rambling and carrying off of the topic, but I've been up for about 20 hours now, and I'm becoming a little dillusional. LOL. And I still have another hour and a half of work left!
